silence.

eunicee jotted on Sunday, May 27, 2007 @ 12:21 AM

there is a silent beauty in this world, do you realise?

admist the bus' engine, the fallen state of man, and the housing development blocks.

it's so silent, literally. the world really turned silent.
it's almost like, narnia.
do you know what that silent beauty is?

i await the day death will be cast into hell.

bahh!

ramblesrambles!

you know, i feel we are very much the same as how we were at 14. i mean, you honestly think you're more mature and grown up now, but secretly we are still very much childish. or hopefully, childlike? i do agree that youths are an interesting bunch. having seen some unpleasant incidences among us, well, i hear many older ones saying how childish and nonsensical it was (well at least, i did) but i've come to notice that we are really like them. the only difference is that as we grow older, we tend to hide such emotions in a seemingly more controlled manner while the younger ones just express them openly. i wonder which is better, expressing them aloud - which brings about much criticism - or expressing them through the silent whispers - which makes us all so unhappy.

hahaha, i think i don't really make much sense do i? of course, i don't deny the fact that some of us are truly more mature in the sense of being able to handle such unpleasant things. well, the main point i want to put across is, don't be too quick to judge others. or maybe, don't underestimate others. or overestimate ourselves. ohmann this is sure rambling! okayokay. the ultimate main point is that we should first look at ourselves, before criticising others. yes!

in any case, I'M AHHHHHHHH-ING! med's first batch of letters are out, but... where's mine! ahhhhhhhh! hahahaha this sure makes me unsettled, i don't really want to go back to school! eeew! i honestly prefer working life than studying, for now at least. okay, I JUST WANT MY NUS LETTER. =S

I wanna be a like a tree,
planted by the water,
trusting in the Father to keep me strong!

I wanna be like a tree,
planted by the water,
trusting in the name of the Lord!

tioman

this entry is a direct copy from my blog.
since i do not have any other interesting thing to post, i hope these photos are entertaining enough! anyway, you should go to tioman if you are thinking of a getaway any time soon! :D
my companions for this trip are pekhar, shuhei and junhoong. :D

TIOMAN ISLAND GETAWAY
- 6th May to 9th May 2007

DAY 1
we met at 7am at kranji mrt station. surprisingly, i was the first to reach. in fact, i was 15 mins early! what a miracle. junhoong suspects i didnt even sleep the entire night. :D
we managed to catch a Causeway link bus to larkin terminal to take a coach to mersing. everyone looks so sleepy !!
at larkin bus terminal, waiting for the 8.30am transnational bus to leave.

the coach was supposed to take more than 3 hours to reach mersing. but the driver just took 2 hours! amazing! but we didnt manage to catch the cheapest coach there because it was full. instead, the transnational bus that we took cost us twice the price. :( anyway, we took some much needed winks during this 2 hours. :D
we managed to arrive on time to confirm our reservation of our stay at panuba inn resort and caught the 11.30am bluewater ferry to tioman. it took more than the estimated 2 hours to reach. meanwhile, i got our first layer of tan when i placed my legs out of the ferry. my thighs got burnt!

and here is the MTV shot of pekhar with a beautiful island we passed by along the way! :D

the ferry that we took to tioman.
the resort was situated on its own and has its own beach.
the sunset that day was gorgeous!
we rested for 3 hours, and decided to source for food outside of the resort's premises. but we unexpectedly trekked over a hill and walked for 20 minutes before deciding on limetree cafe.
a pretty cosy place to chill.group shot of the day!

and we even decided to trek back to the resort in the dark because we didnt want to wait 2 hours for a private boat to bring us back. :D it was quite fun and exciting!

junhoong even risked his life by holding his robin's burger in one hand and a torch in another while trekking back!!

the rest of the night was spent playing cards over chips and drinks. it was the girls' first time playing bridge. and shuhei became our master. he won 99% of the game anyway. :S

DAY 2
snorkeling day! i couldnt bring my digital camera along with me. so there arent any photos. :( but we saw a baby shark! and junhoong spotted a stingray! isnt that cool! anyway, we got our tan from snorkeling half a day at various sites around coral island and tioman island. we were given loaves of bread to feed the fishes but the guys were cheekily threw it towards our direction during snorkeling so that all the fishes would come jumping around us. :) we stopped by salang beach for lunch and tasted one of the best meals yet! especially with such beautiful beach as background! there were many monitor lizards

we had really dried beehoon for breakfast. and diluted mango syrup which we mistook for orange juice :( thats why shuhei decided to go for coffee instead.
all dressed and ready to go! :D
the rest of the day was spent playing cards and chilling out at the jetty. we couldnt go anywhere else because it felt like a storm was coming. and we didnt want to risk our lives trekking over to ABC beach.
playing cards. again. :D
chilling at the jetty.

DAY 3
trekking day!
a 3 shots series we took before setting off to trek. the girls got defeated! :)

we were prepared to trek 5 hours from our resort to juara village which is on the other side of the island. from our resort, we would need 2 hours to trek past ABC beach, marine park to reach tekek village. from there, it would take us 3 hours to trek across the hill to juara village. according to my research, there is a path that will lead us there. but we never expected never-ending stairs! it was VERY challenging. by this time, my burns from the day before was getting another layer of tan from the afternoon sun. ouch!
stopping for a short rest and drink
stairs and more stairs!
and downhill all the way on concrete paths
after reaching the peak, it was a steep concrete path all the way. and we finally reach our destination, which turned out to be quite deserted!
we actually trekked 7km over the hill! the total distance from the resort should amount to 10km at least.

we had double portion of drinks for lunch!
and look what i found on the beach! dead pufferfishes and many other small fishes! i wonder how these dead fishes ended up there....
i love this jetty shot!
and this postcard-like photo!

we were too tired to trek back so we took 4 wheeldrive back. but who knows the second jeep that picked us up got stuck in the mud! and an attempt to get it out resulted in the engine catching fire!! what a shock! in the end, we had to ride in a third jeep to get back to the marine park.
the first jeep
the second jeep that got caught in the mud and the engines burst into flames!

we rewarded ourselves with PIZZAS! i LOVE the pizzas there. the crust is very specially thin and crunchy and its fillings are very appetizing! i believe it can challenge pizza hut easily. :D
this is my favourite picture. this is the last sunset! awesome!

DAY 4
last day! return trip back!
thank God that the rain came the day we left tioman! it was raining the whole day! and i cant imagine how disappointing it would be if it had been on our first day in tioman! :(
our farewell group shot in the room.
shuhei was so tired from lack of sleep that he slept lying on the railings of the ferry!
on the bus back to larkin. we reached singapore at about 9pm.

what a trip! truly enjoyed myself! and the beauty of God's creation is awesome.
wished i could try out my SLR there though. :)
thank God for His protection!

a hammer.

empty vessels.

B-I-M-B-O-S.

raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant!
it actually feels quite queer.

in any case, acband got gold with honours! whoosh! they played real well! but then again, just within the afternoon, i was brought back to the same world of acband. not that pleasant i must say. rather different from my current one now.. hmm.

in any case, battle rages. chickaboom!

it is so easy to look at others
and envy what we do not have.
it is so easy to dream
and wish for something better.

but it seems so challenging to look at the here and now.
and thank God for His wonderful blessings which we have often taken for granted.

my family.
my friends.
my material blessings.
my physical body.
my environment.
and so much more.

even when i have been unfaithful,
and i stray far away from Him,
to do things the way i want it,
He has never failed to be faithful,
and stayed by my side.

when will knowledge become a true reality experience?
i yearn for something more, yet afraid of what to expect.

friends.

eunicee jotted on Friday, May 04, 2007 @ 8:33 PM

good friends, vs not nice friends.

i wonder which kind will i meet in uni. or rather, which kind will i have to mix with.
mixing with childish, bimbotic, vicious people does irk me, but i suppose it's reality and of course, we must still love all of them. i wish i'll meet real nice people who are just, real. Not just those with a facade, or you know, those kinds. well, they really make me feel like, i can't wait for Jesus to come back and make all things nice again. but then again, i'm sure these people represent some part of us, secretly, just some part i can't really figure out for now. well, in any case, i still hope i meet good and nice friends, though the bad and the ugly are inevitably the reality of life. am i being confusing!?

okay, how about, i hope i even meet friends in uni. hmm, after hearing all the experiences of janice.

i'm glad still, i did meet nice friends in fmss, in ac, and of course, my two friends janice and becca!
mm...
