Status really that important?

Becky jotted on @ 12:51 PM

My couple, Kate, smsed me a few mins ago...

Have you been promoted? U deserve it... If you have not, dun worry, it is on it's way!

Haha. She so cute lah.

Little things that people say, that make me smile. =)

Sometimes, I wonder if status is really that important?

The coversation between my intern (who happens to be the same age as me) and I goes like this...

Becks : I think I feel much mature than you leh.
Tim : Hmm. I also think so too actually.
Becks : Uh? Really ah? What else you think of me then?
Tim : I think you look like those who know how to enjoy life.
Becks : Yup, agree
Tim : Are you dating anyone now? Cuz you look like those who needs to be loved. (anyway, what is that suppose to mean rite?)
Becks : I didn't reply to that. I wonder is that true.

Anyway, I forced him to buy me flowers for valentine's. Haha. I'm such a big meanie at work. =)

Go India!

Becky jotted on @ 5:50 PM

Working hard tomorrow, on Chinese New Year Eve.

That's why my family chose to do reunion dinner today! Wohoo... Smelling the good food now & Da Jie chasing me to help in the kitchen. =/

Anyway, you'll must be thinking why is there anyone getting married on CNY eve rite? That's because they are a Indian Couple, so they dun celebrate CNY. Haha.

They are namely, Baljit & Rawinder. Relatively, old couple who both are about 40 plus years old.

Had so so much difficulty talking to them about their wedding package. They simple want me to give my hotel I would say. Free usage of ballroom till 2am for dancing? No way man. Bargin bargin till I nearly puke blood. I met them at least 10 times within 2 months, 2 hours for each meeting, making it 20 hours already. Aiyo, they so naggy leh. Talk and talk about the same thing. Bringing different people down each time. I think I know almost the whole family now. Rawinder nieces & their boyfriend, Baljit sister-in-laws etc...

Anyway, I really can't wait to see their wedding performance tomorrow! It's a total different culture all in all.

When I hear the march-in song, I feel like I'm at Bollywood show. But where's the tree leh? Wahaha... Then they gonna dance! Indian music are always so catchy and fast. Nice, even though I dun understand at all. =)

Yes yes, it's because of this. I wanna go India!!! Yeah.

* Wishing you'll a very happy lunar new year!

only into my third week of school, but i'm sick AGAIN. that makes me sick for two weeks.

I wish this term will end ever so quickly, but i bet it won't. Instead, I bet it's going to be the reality of the grueling challenges.

14 MORE WEEKS. ohmygosh.

Let me proudly introduce my very 2 good buddies @ work....
Tiffany, 29 years old who is single and available
Vincent, 35 years old who is married and happily in love with her wife peng
3 different aged, different lifestyle...
But I simply love hanging out with them! We work late nights together, rush project together, get scolding together, have dinner together, have drinks after dinner together & finished our 6km run together...
I got to say I'm gonna miss them like crazy soon.
I'm gonna leave my current wedding planning job and move onto a different department. Something similar; but instead of selling my function room, I'm going to sell my hotel rooms instead.
Though I'm gonna miss the times everything I've done so far. Miss talking to my wedding couples.
I know that I'll have more time to my friends, family & God with this new job. =)

April 08. Snacking on Cup Noodles during Tea Time.

Jan 09. Treat my fellow buddies Spineilli Coffee.
See how silly we can be during office hours. Love them!

i love algebra. i really do. i love teaching algebra to students who can catch it fast too.
when i was sec 2, i was so upset with myself for not being able to understand it that i did every single algebra question in my assessment book and textbook over and over again. but i got 100 for that final exam. first and last time. HA.

love and marriage

janice jotted on Monday, January 12, 2009 @ 11:09 PM

i just read karen cheng's blog, (linked from mao's blog)
and her latest blog post talks about love and marriage.
she writes:

"Everyday he tells me how much he loves me, why he loves me, why he loves his life with me. Sometimes it’s silly, sometimes it’s random, and sometimes it brings a tear to my eye.

It’s been 6 years, and I’m one lucky woman."

and it's really heartwarming to see that,
but when i look at our local context, i cant help but sigh,
because compliments, affirmation, edification comes hard.

how many times do you tell your loved ones 'i love you' and 'you are really great'?
or how many times have you heard someone say that to you?
these words shouldnt warrant from the things you do,
but it should come just by being.

not just from companions,
but more so from friends.

i think this asian society can do a little more with words of love.
honestly.
we all need it.

Really really busy busy!!!

Let me give you a overview then...

30 Dec 08 - Took leave to go JB with Eunice, Janice & Edward. Waited for Janice for 2 half hours at woodlands MRT though.
31 Dec 08 - Suppose to be on half day cuz it's eve of New Year. But I have a couple who chooses to get married on this very day. Keith & Linda are wonderful people, although they always disturb me on my off day. Haha. But they thanked me when they say their speech on stage! All my efforts are paid off. I count down with them to year 2009 =) Thereafter, join my other fellow colleagues at the lobby for second round. Btw, they gave me ang bao too.
1 Jan 09 - Goodness! I was frantically running the whole day, 3 weddings in a row! Firstly, Solemnization of Zhang Zhen & Meng Meng. Second, change and rush to help out in the wedding reception of Zhong & Ivy. I didn't manage to catch any glimpse of them walking in the aisle at all. =( I left immediately after the registration. Lastly, meet my nicest couple (Guo Nian & Shu Zhen) for the start of the New Year! They allow me to decide alot of things for them, making my job really easy. They believe things will be in good hands with me around! Even though it rain, things still went smoothly. He gave all the 10 staff ang bao leh, so generous. Hehe.
2 Jan 09 - I was so tired after so many long days at work. I took half day to go home to sleep.
3 Jan 09 - Weddings again! Solemnization of Raymond & Geraldine at the poolside garden. Weather was wonderful and everything went smoothly. They are 11 years apart. Raymond looks like a typical ah beng, yellow teeth but speak good english man! Geraldine was moved to tears when she said the vows. I was the emcee, I cried too. So pai seh. At night, it was wedding of Larry & June. Again, they were 8 years apart. (But this time the bride was the older one) Aiyo, she will age so much faster than the groom lah. I guess this is true love. =)
4 Jan 09 - Farewell lunch for Jonathan @ Fish & Co. I bought 3 fishes & 2 terrapins to fill up my empty tank.
7 Jan 09 - Took half day leave to catch up with my Shatec friends. We had tea together, can see my photos posted at my facebook! Then meet up with the rest for Jonathan part 2 farewell @ Timbre! I was happy to see my bride, Jessy who got married on 19 Sept 08. But I was very devastated to hear that she separated from Ray, her husband with a short 3 months of marriage. I do not know what really happened but I heard from her that he fell for a 21 years old girl. Is marriage a game or something? I dun understand, really. I'm so upset to see them like that. They were once so in love with each other for a good 8 years, and now end up like that. I'm gonna ask her out for meal to catch up with her. =)

That's all for now!!! Hear from me and my exciting stories soon...
