Peep at India...

Becky jotted on Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 12:06 AM

I read from the book I bought at the delhi airport.

It wrote 'In the west you have to belong to society and follow a certain pattern. You are supposed to get a house, a career and the whole of life is oriented towards money. India is not like that. India is a unique country,' he emphasised, to the agreement of the others present.
'Without India, the world is doomed to the proverty of materialism'

A crippled man begging for money on the streets of India.

The vast difference in earnings scares me when I got to know. A street sweeper can only earn 50rupees, $1.50 per month. A domestic helper earns 1,400rupees, $42.50 per month.

Sigh. When will India get out of this?

Thank God

I really thank God for the ability to adapt to countries so fast.

Although it's really really dirty, I'm still good! As usual, what I'm well known for. I have a steel stomach!

More to share when I'm back. :):):)

I'm good here!

Mao said : Becca, must blog if you have internet access in India.

Alright. Yes madam!

Just a short one before I leave for another fun filled and exciting day.

I have so much to say about this trip. Emotion filled incidents, met wonderful people all over the world during my tour, listening to Indian music & drama and sipping into their culture.

I tell you this trip is wonderful! : )

I was offered by a friend I met on the way, to stay with her in Chennai (South India). Maybe I'll go there soon. Hehe. Oh my goodness, they are such nice people I tell you. The mother hugged me before saying bye to me. :'(

I saw one crow and a pigeon feasting on the food offered at the green patch of grass along my void deck.

One ship drives east and another drives west
With the selfsame winds that blow.
'Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales
Which tells us the way to go.
Like the winds of the sea are the ways of fate,
As we voyage along through life:
'Tis the set of a soul
That decides its goal,
And not the calm or the strife.

God sent Angel

Becky jotted on Monday, July 20, 2009 @ 10:13 PM

I was telling mao that God always send people to help me when I travel. Or at least for the past trip to Vietnam and my trip to India in 2 days!

When I was at the airport to Vietnam in April, I saw my schoolmate Chris. He brought us around in Vietnam and rode us in his bike!

I've got to emphasis this again. IN 2 DAYS TIME, I'm gonna see my friend's friend in New Delhi. She invited us to stay with her. She also arranged for a 2D1N tour for us to Agra and Jaipur. Which I'm gonna see Taj Mahal and the Pink City respectively. :) And what's more? She is driving us around! That makes it a perfect trip. Thanks Asha!

HAPPY

Becky jotted on @ 10:08 PM

I've learnt that our body produces endorphins when we are HAPPY!

Endorphins are endogenous opioid polypeptide compounds. They are produced by the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus in vertebrates during strenuous exercise, excitement and pain. They resemble the opiates in their abilities to produce analgesia and a sense of well-being. Endorphins work as "natural pain relievers", whose effects may be enhanced by other medications.

I will live
To carry your compassion
To love a world that's broken
To be Your hands and feet
I will give
With the life that I'd been given
And go beyond religion
To see the world be changed
By the power of Your Name

i think maybe my retirement job should be a florist. the smell of flowers is so refreshing and nice and happy, like pink cotton candies on lollisticks.

do we spend too much time with christians, till we don't really have opportunities to live life with pre-believers, to be a light and salt to the nations?

misplaced! yikesydoodles!

a timely reminder - ACT ON IT!!!!!!

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:12

RENEW YOUR MIND

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Hebrews 12:1

THROW OFF SINS THAT ENTANGLE

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
Proverbs 1:7

FEAR THE LORD

But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to obey his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and all your soul."
Joshua 22:5

LOVE HIM = OBEY THE LORD

40 days fast

Becky jotted on Sunday, July 05, 2009 @ 11:15 PM

The first thought of fasting from facebook came to me when I received the 40days fast booklet.

It's really a addiction to me I would say. Dunno why, but just so stuck to it when I logged into it. I can spend hours and hours, sacrificing my sleeping time too.

It's difficult for me to fast on food cause I often got to entertain my clients, thus got to eat eat eat.

There! Here I embark on my 40days fasting journey... :)

A day out with Uncle Raymond

Becky jotted on @ 10:20 PM

Just a glimpse of what Uncle Raymond took of me a few months back.
He always teaches me how to pose. Haha.

And never fails to bring some props for his photoshoot.

There! Uncle Raymond.
Seems like more and more people in my life are into photography nowadays. :P
